I initially reached out to Ashley when I was 7 months postpartum because I knew I wanted to be active again I just didn’t know where to start. I had a traumatic birth experience and Ashley made me feel so safe in our sessions to explore how my body was healing. She taught me how to tend to what needed extra love and care and re-training. I feel much more confident now in my postpartum journey. I hope you dive right in if you have the chance to work with her!

I saw Dr. Ashley through instagram when I was pregnant with my second baby. I started working with her as I entered my third trimester and knew she would be the perfect fit because we are currently living in Okinawa, Japan with no access to Pelvic Floor PT on island. I was so grateful I was able to get her help from so far away. I was experiencing a lot of discomfort and heaviness in my pelvis during my pregnancy and Ashley completely eased my anxiety around this pain. She equipped me with the knowledge that I needed to regain strength and confidence in the movements that I was performing every day. Because of her, I was able to have the birth that I could only dream of and I am looking forward to working with her again during my postpartum period. I am forever grateful for her knowledge, her expertise and what she continues to show me. She takes a lot of the stress out of something that I think women in general don’t get a lot of guidance on. She makes it very simple and manageable - I recommend her to any woman who is a mom, planning to become a mom, or any woman just looking to get stronger. I’m so grateful for her knowledge and professionalism.

As a mom of two (17 months apart) I knew my pelvic floor needed some help when I tried running a 5k race and noticed a lot of leakage the entire time I was running ! Since I started working with Ashley, I learned how to breathe the right way, control my pelvic floor, and how to tie that into my activities throughout the day. I can honestly say I have not had any leaking since I started working with her and have returned to running LEAK FREE ! A few other positives I wasn’t expecting to gain from this was that my cramping around my periods is significantly less, and my “mom pooch” has disappeared!! I can tell Ashley really cares, and takes the time to actually LISTEN which is not always the case in the medical field. She was so flexible with appointment times, and even when scheduling my workouts. She created workouts that fit my life and schedule, not the other way around. I highly recommend !!

After my first child was born, I was blindsided by a prolapse diagnosis. Fitness has always been important to me, and I was worried that working out would never be the same. At 6 weeks postpartum, I began seeing a pelvic PT weekly to help me with a program to heal ab separation, decrease prolapse symptoms, and get me back to exercise. After 4 months of hard work and dedication, I was strong enough to start running and ran a fast half marathon shortly after my daughter turned 1. My prolapse symptoms were gone and it felt like I got my life back. When I got pregnant again, I was nervous for what a second pregnancy and delivery could do to my body. I knew I wanted to start pelvic PT right away because of how much it helped me after my first. I decided to work with someone virtually and I’m so grateful that I found Dr. Ashley Vitale. I love having a custom program and knew I wouldn’t get as much out of an app or cookie cutter routine. Ashley is incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and is there for me to answer all of my questions. I feel supported knowing I have a partner in my postpartum fitness journey that will get me back to feeling strong and empowered in my workouts. At 12 weeks postpartum, I already feel stronger than I thought possible and see myself back to running and doing everything I love before I know it.
FAQs
Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles located at the base of the pelvis, shaped like a bowl or a hammock, that support and control the organs of the pelvic region. It truly is the “floor of your core” and works in conjunction with your core muscles and diaphragm to manage pressure in your core canister. It plays a significant role in support, continence, stability and sexual function.
I do not allow your insurance company to dictate your plan of care. Unfortunately, most insurance companies cover the bare minimum, limiting what we can cover in a session and limit you to a certain amount of sessions. After years in the hampster wheel of this system, and seeing patient outcomes suffer, we are self-pay only. Some insurance providers will reimburse you for out-of-network physical therapy. We recommend that you contact your insurance company in advance to confirm your options. We are happy to provide you with an itemized super bill for reimbursement submission upon request.
Investment varies slightly depending on length of package and level of support, but monthly holistic coaching ranges between $300 - $700.
Payment is accepted through the app you will be using with any major credit card. It can be a one time payment or set up as a recurring subscription.
No, not everyone has to wait until their 6 week PP checkup with their doctor. I always say, whenever you feel mentally ready to begin exercising postpartum, that’s when we can start incorporating your reconnecting phase. I’ve had women begin 2 - 3 days PP, and others who begin weeks, months, years postpartum. I’m here whenever you’re ready <3
Absolutely! The ultimate goal is to be pain and injury free, and you’re on a monthly workout program addressing your specific goals. You and I would check in 1x/month and your workouts would be adjusted monthly based on your progress/goals. You would go through monthly progressions independently, but would still have app access to me for any questions that may pop up.
Yep! Love that you’re setting yourself up for a smoother birth and stronger recovery !
During your eval, we discuss realistic timeframes for you and your lifestyle. If you tell me you only have time for 20 mins, I prioritize exercises to fit that time frame to help increase consistent compliance. Ideally, 30-40 mins 3 - 4x/week would be a great consistent schedule.
I customize all of your workouts based on what you have access to, whether that be at home or in the gym. However, I do strongly recommend having some sort of resistance bands and/or dumbbells available because we’re always looking to progressively overload muscles so we can create adaptation and get stronger!
